How to Recognize a Trainer:

When you're racing online, it's possible to look at the skill level of the other drivers, as well as at their cars. And that's how you can recognize trainers. I'm not an expert code writer, but I believe that's because all the racing records are kept online and the data that appears there is resident on the server, and therefore not subject to manipulation by the players. Unlimited nitrous and other advantages are part of the program that runs on your computer while you're racing ... part of the trainer program.

Here's the main online session screen, showing the different hosts and your connection level:

I chose "heizermetti" and entered the room ... here's that screen:

Notice that I've highlighted "heizermetti" ... the "view player" toggle appears. Click on "view player" and here's what you see:

Uh oh. Heizer's running a trainer. Notice that the speed, acceleration and handling bars are all at dead zero. Note also that the car is an Audi A4 ... I suspect, but don't know, that this is because the car ID is part of the trainer script and that it shows zero because the car is not recognized by the resident server program.
