I’m Doc Carney, publisher of The Patriot. I’m a retired Special Forces NCO and Vietnam veteran. I’ve also written as “The Old Sarge” and sometimes as “The Old Reprobate.” The Old Sarge is a name I inherited when I was writing for and advising The Muncie Times, a black oriented newspaper (though I am, in point of fact, if not THE Old Sarge at least AN Old Sarge). The publisher, Bea Moten-Foster, suggested I adopt the name, which another writer in her employ had used elsewhere. I continued to use it when I took The Patriot online.
In addition to my experience in the military, I’ve also written for The Jackson Advocate and Gridlock and Load, a UPI online magazine now on hiatus.

Doc,
Is all well with you? If so, what is up with Faded Glory?
